Monk fruit, known as lo has Guo in Chinese, is native to southern China. The extract is made by crushing the fruit to make liquid or dried concentrate. As the intensity of the sweetness can range from 80 to nearly 300 times the sweetness of sugar, we blend the extract with a lower intensity sweetener (erythritol).
